Kenai River, ALASKA The Kenai River is a spectacular place to fish beginning in mid May, with plenty of King Salmon entering the river. The fishing remains excellent throughout June and July until the season closes on July 31. This river is famous for producing large fish where anglers are always looking to top the world record King Salmon(97 1/4 lbs)! Fish generally average between 40 and 50 lbs.
